Greenland Group Suzhou Center, China

This 358m mixed-use tower, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), will incorporate a 30-story atrium to allow daylight to flood the interior giving workers a more natural work environment. The atrium will also allow fresh air to be circulated through out the building via operable windows. Though this building will undoubtedly have an ominous presence on the Wujiang skyline, it is an example that super-tall buildings can be environmentally sustainable and energy inefficient. ImageImage courtesy of SOM
